Is the firmware really free?

Yes. Downloads are free. We only ask for your name and mobile number so that we can help you if you get stuck, and to tell you about our data recovery services if you need them.

How do I choose the right file?

Use the exact model number on the drive label, for example WD10EZEX-08WN4A0, and match the firmware (ROM) version, PCB number and family shown on the file page. A file for a different family can damage the drive.

Is it safe to write firmware to my drive?

Firmware work is for trained engineers. Writing the wrong file can make a drive unusable and can destroy data. Always save the original ROM and adaptive data first. If the drive holds important data, let a professional lab handle it.

My model is not in the list. What now?

Send us the model number and PCB number on WhatsApp or through the contact page and we will try to find the firmware for you.
